About us
Restorative Justice Nelson has been providing Restorative Justice services to the local community for 25 years. Restorative Justice processes involve a facilitated meeting between a victim and offender that enables victims to have a voice and supports offenders to understand the impact of their actions.
About the role
We are seeking a compassionate, organised kaimahi/facilitator with strong communication and active listening skills to join our team. The role is for a contract facilitator to undertake Restorative Justice conferencing. This role involves working with offenders, victims, support people, and professionals to coordinate and facilitate restorative processes. Our work covers the whole Nelson Tasman area.

The desired applicant will have, or be willing to develop:
The ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and in sensitive situations
The ability to work alongside people from all walks of life
Experience or interest in restorative practices and community wellbeing
Strong organisational and time management skills
Strong communication and facilitation skills
Flexibility, resilience, and an ability to adapt to changing circumstances
Empathy, assertiveness, humility, and patience, alongside a good sense of humour
Computer literacy
A full driver’s licence and the ability to work in Aotearoa New Zealand
The successful applicant will be subject to a New Zealand Police Vet which is a requirement for this role. Historical convictions are not necessarily a barrier to employment.
